Nick Faldo Plays the Open offers a detailed golf simulation with a split-screen display. The upper part of the screen is initially used for configuring controls and key assignments, then displays a course map that can be viewed in different scales to help line up shots. The lower part of the screen consists of seven windows that provide various information and actions. Two windows display wind speed and course data such as hole length, par, and stroke count. Another allows switching between a large and small map. Three windows are used to prepare the shot, while the last executes it.
